Academic Programs:
St. Martin’s Lutheran School is committed to a strong academic program that inspires the growth of knowledge and skills as lifelong learners. Our school supports continued development in the area of social, physical, and emotional growth. Our state-licensed teaching staff continually helps children to learn about their Savior, and to develop a personal relationship with Jesus. All of this is experienced through its educational and spiritual experiences, instruction, and curriculum.
At St. Martin’s School, our Christian educators are committed to providing a complete education for God’s children by meeting their social, intellectual, spiritual, physical and emotional needs. We also believe that the family has the greatest impact on a child’s education, and that together, with the partnership of home, school and church, we can successfully raise the next generation of Christian leaders for now and for the next 150+ years.
Kindergarten Classroom
Kindergarten Classroom:
Welcome to Kindergarten!!!!
Kindergarten is a time where we become explorers. We get to explore how we fit in this big world that God created for us. We learn how to make discoveries while using our 5 senses.
The emphasis in our classroom is to learn through our experiences. Through our discovery of reading, we will open up a door to a vast world of knowledge of our own beautiful world and the things that God has created in it. Through math we will learn how to measure our world through our numbers, sorting, patterns, counting money, and more.
Our learning is very hands on and interactive. We use our smart board to learn new ideas, read magazines, write words, and even take a dance break when needed.
The most important thing we learn in this classroom is just how much our God loves us. He loves us so much that He sent His one and only Son to take our place. Jesus died on the cross and rose from the grave so that we may live with Him forever in Heaven.

2nd Grade Classroom
2nd Grade Classroom:
Welcome to Second Grade!
Second grade is a time of continuing growth and discovery. In second grade, students build upon what they have already learned, and explore several new concepts. Much of our learning will be done through hands-on and interactive activities. This form of learning opens the door to more challenging concepts and makes our learning more meaningful.
In addition to the subjects of math, reading, writing, science, and social studies, students will continue to learn about God’s great love for them and the ways that they can reflect His love to others. Faith will be integrated into the curriculum as students learn about the world that God has created and the ways that they can use their knowledge to serve Him.

3rd and 4th Grade Classroom
3rd and 4th Grade Classroom:
In our 3rd an 4th grade classroom we will incorporate active/kinesthetic learning to appeal to learners who create and manipulate using their minds AND hands. We know that words alone cannot display what a child needs to learn. Rather, they need to see what they need to learn and comprehend. That is why our classroom will use many visuals to work with my words as opposed to using visuals as a last resort.
Most importantly, in our classroom we believe that, no matter how great the education or knowledge brought to students can fully be completed and perfect without God’s Word and guiding hand. Even if the Word of God is not “verbally” applied within a lesson, a teacher’s actions and words can still reflect the love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control of Jesus.

5th grade classroom
5th Grade Classroom:
Welcome to the 5th Grade Classroom! There are definite changes as students enter this grade level. We are now in the "middle school" grades; that is reflected with more departmentalization, discussions, decisions, and depth, especially as we study more advanced subject matter and Biblical truths. The main focus in our classroom is the way we show God's love to each other as we live and learn from day to day. It is great for the students to know that in this time of change in their lives, God never changes and is with each and every one of them always!
I want to teach each child in the best way that I can, whether he or she is a visual, auditory, or kinesthetic learner; and of course with God’s guidance in every step of our school day. A Bible verse that I love and that we talk about is Jeremiah 29:11 – “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope”.

7th and 8th Grade classroom
7th and 8th Grade Classroom:
Welcome to your final year at St. Martin’s Lutheran School. Being in eighth grade is such a privilege, but with that privilege comes more responsibility as you transition into young adults. Our eighth graders are expected to be the leaders of the classroom with positive leadership.
In my classroom, I am preparing the students for high school and beyond with practicing proper writing etiquette, the use of technology, lifetime activities, and so on. I believe in teaching concepts that will help the students with not only the work at hand, but with information they can use in their future. During their eighth grade year, our students will go through confirmation with Pastor Moore, dissect animals in science, take field trips for history, learn sports and leisure activities, and last, but not least, take their eighth grade class trip! By having smaller numbers in our school, the students are able to take risks in trying something new and receiving help in areas they may struggle with. I am the type of teacher who likes to push the students to get the best out of them, to see what they are capable of, to help them learn in a way that works for them, and if they fall, help them get back up and try again.

7th and 8th Grade Confirmation Class
Grade 7 and 8 Confirmation:
Confirmation instruction is a learning experience which introduces the Christian Faith to young people using the Bible and Luther’s Small Catechism as our foundation. It is well for us to take these words from Proverbs to heart, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.” (Proverbs 9:10) and “Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it” (Proverbs 22:6).
The goal of our Confirmation Ministry is to help develop and strengthen a lifestyle of following Jesus in the everyday lives of our Confirmation students. It prepares young people to re-affirm the vows for them at their Baptism, to publicly acknowledge their faith and take their position as an adult in the church.

7th and 8th Grade Animal Science and Pre - Algebra
Grade 7 and 8 Animal Science and Pre - Algebra:
I believe that the primary goal for any teacher, at any grade level, in any discipline, is to help foster the joy of learning. We need to equip our students with the necessary tools to think, reason, communicate and plan. When we, as educators, are successful in this task, we have not taught our students a single isolated concept or idea; but rather, how to make connections and discoveries for life.
In the area of teaching math and science, I believe that we need to give students a variety of ways to learn scientific and mathematical concepts, and make connections through a scientific approach. It is crucial that as educators, we give ample opportunities for students to use their God-given problem-solving skills, to work cooperatively, to communicate appropriately, and to support their findings, based on scientific inquiry and scientific reasoning. This will allow students to discover the beautiful world of our Lord's creation.

ART EDUCATION:
Welcome to the world of Art!
Our Art Classes are designed to teach the students skills, tips, and tricks that help them turn their innate creativity into visual works of art that display how they view the world, God, their emotions, and their thoughts. As they begin to think like artists, they will learn how to create, problem solve, associate, and be productive members of society. The class provides knowledge of the elements of art and the principles of design.

6th Grade Classroom:
Welcome to the 6th Grade Classroom!
