Mission Statement

Joyfully Sharing God’s Gifts

We the redeemed of God, called to be St. Martin’s Lutheran Church and School, joyfully commit ourselves to the God-given privilege of sharing the Gospel to make disciples. Utilizing our God-given gifts, we will share God’s love, teach God’s Word and celebrate God’s sacraments. Rejoicing in His gifts we live as witnesses in the assurance of forgiveness and salvation.

Core Beliefs

God’s Word

To align our wills with God, we listen to His voice as found in the inspired canonical books of the Old and New Testaments. We daily study the Bible individually and also diligently study the Bible as a church body to strengthen our personal relationship with God and for gaining knowledge to enable us to share the faith.

(Nehemiah 8:1-8; Psalm 1:1-3; 19:7-11; Mark 4:2-20; John 20:30-31; II Timothy 3:14-17; Hebrews 4:12)

Prayer

To align our wills with God, we talk to Him personally and as a church body in adoration, confession, thanksgiving and supplication (ACTS) for others and for ourselves. We pray continually and confidently knowing that God always answers with what is best for us.

(Deuteronomy 4:7; Jeremiah 29:12-14a; Matthew 6:5-13; Luke 11:1-12; Ephesians 6:18-20; I Thessalonians 5:17-18; James 5:13-18)

Worship

We openly acknowledge and receive God’s gifts of Word (Law & Gospel) and sacraments (Baptism and The Lord’s Supper), and we then respond in love and gratefulness to God and in encouraging one another as a unified body of believers.

(Exodus 31:12-17; Deuteronomy 5:12-15; Leviticus 23:1-3; Psalm 95:1-7c; John 4:21-24; Hebrews 4:9-11; 10:19-25)

Talents

We assist and motivate people to discover and develop their God-given talents to uplift the Body of Christ. We unselfishly use our time, practical abilities, and spiritual gifts to bring glory to God and further His kingdom.

(Exodus 31:1-11; 35:10-19, 25-26; Matthew 25:14-30; I Corinthians 12:12-31; 14:12; Ephesians 4:7-16)

Giving

Recognizing that everything comes from the Lord, we thankfully return a first-fruit percentage that appropriately reflects our dependence on Him.

(Exodus 25:1-9; 35:4-9, 20-24, 27-29; Leviticus 27:30-34; II Chronicles 31:3-8; Malachi 3:8-12; Luke 6:38; II Corinthians 9:6-15)

Christian Education

We equip, support and encourage people of all ages to grow spiritually in their personal lives and to become responsible members in their families and in their congregation.

(Deuteronomy 6:4-8; Psalm 22:6; Proverbs 16:20-23; Mark 10:13-16; Ephesians 6:4; II Timothy 4:1-5; Hebrews 13:20-21)

Christian Witness

We share with others through word and actions what we believe (using both Law and Gospel) in ever-expanding circles of home, neighborhood, community and world so others might be brought to a saving belief in Jesus Christ.

(Jeremiah 23:28; Proverbs 14:5; Matthew 18:18-20; Acts 1:7-8; II Corinthians 2:17; 4:2; I Peter 3:13-16)

Servanthood

We glorify God through our faith in action. We work individually and also join with others to meet the spiritual and physical needs of believers and unbelievers everywhere.

(Leviticus 19:18b; Zechariah 8:3-10; Matthew 25:31-46; Luke 10:25-37; John 13:3-17; Galatians 5:13-15; I Peter 4:8-11)
