I attended St. Martin’s from 1953-1963. I was wondering if any reunions of classmates were in the future. I always have fond memories of St. Martin’s and the friends I made there.
We are currently in the process of generating a database of alumni so that we might contact former graduates in the future. Evidently, this has not been done in the past, so we have over 140 years worth of data to uncover!
I was born, baptized and grew up in Winona, just 4 blocks from St. Martin’s. Attended grades 1-9 at the school well taught by some excellent, dedicated teachers. Remember well confirmation classes with Pastor Alfred Sauer and was confirmed and graduated from the school in 1950. Enjoyed Junior Walther League in high school and have fond memories of the plays we presented and the autumn hay rides. Encouraged by Principal Emanuel Arndt to become a teacher, I attended Dr. Martin Luther College and spent 35 years as a teacher and professor in the Wisconsin Synod. Served as organist for one of my first services at St. Martin’s and am still serving as an organist at age 77 at St. John in Watertown, WI and St. Paul in Neosho, WI. I wish you well at St. Martin’s. Keep the faith and spread the Word!
Thank you for your kind post. God’s richest blessings to you!
