Campus Ministry Director

Ruth Badciong is Director of Campus Ministry for St. Martin’s. She coordinates the program of Bible study, fellowship, and service projects for the Lutheran Student Fellowship (LSF) Chapter at Winona State University.

Ruth is a Wisconsin native who graduated from Concordia University Wisconsin with a degree in Lutheran Elementary Education. She later earned the M.Ed. degree from Cardinal Stritch University (Milwaukee) and an Ed.D from Nova Southeastern University, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.

Ruth’s first call as a certified Lutheran teacher was to Good Shepherd Lutheran School in East Troy, Wisconsin, where she taught Grades 5/6 and directed athletics. In 1990 she married Steven and accepted a call to teach Kindergarten, Grades 7/8, and Technology at St. Martin’s. She served St. Martin’s until 1997 when she was called to teach in the College of Education at Concordia University, Portland.

Ruth returned to Winona and St. Martin’s to be a stay-at-home mom to two wonderful sons and to do some freelance curriculum work for Concordia Publishing House and Lutherans for Life. Since Spring 2002 she has been blessed with the opportunity to work again with college students in the area of campus ministry.

Ruth also enjoys singing, playing clarinet, Bible Study, family time, and watching her favorite team, the Green Bay Packers. She is a member of Phoebe Circle and Women in Mission and serves on the Winona Zone LWML Board and the East Winona County Thrivent Chapter Board.
