Music Academy and Kindergarten Music Instructor
Alyssa Chase Klemp received her B.A. degree in elementary education with a concentration in school music from Concordia University, St. Paul, Minnesota, in 1992. She was called by St. John’s Lutheran Church in Chaska, MN, where she taught until 1995. At that time, God blessed her and her husband, Philip, with their first child and it was decided that being a mother would be her primary calling. However, Alyssa continued to teach private piano lessons out of her home and volunteer her musical skills within the church and community in which she lived.
Since moving to Winona in 1999, Alyssa has served as a substitute teacher at St. Martin’s Lutheran School and volunteer accompanist for several of the church and school ensembles. In 2006, she became a part-time
instructor of St. Martin’s Music Academy in the areas of flute and piano. She also enjoys serving as the Kindergarten music teacher, a volunteer position she has held since 2007.
Alyssa is married to Philip Klemp and they have three daughters who all attend St. Martin’s Lutheran School.
